“Robots and how they are changing the way we live”
Magazine article, You are to create concept sketches for an illustration, (Title page, and spot) to accompany an article on the concept of Robots and how they change the way we live. My initial inspiration for this project was Eric Fortunes blog article below. Please read the entire article. Ruminate on his conclusions, musings etc. Then take a look at the additional research material and listen to these NPR series articles by David Broncaccio.
I want to see 20 initial thumbnail sketches (all within your sketchbook) by: Tuesday January 19, 2016. We will discuss in class and share with each other.

Discuss work, answer questions for problems encountered.
300 word comparison between an Illustrator of the pre 1960 era and an Illustrator of the post-1960 era. The comparison can be based on imagery, subject matter, working methods, lifestyles, etc. Please give visual examples. This paper should be as professional as possible, as if for a professional magazine article.

Pacing, Layout, Type Placement, Style/Technique.
1,-completed dummy. Due: March 31, 2016.
3- finished sketches.
1-finished sample illustration. Due: April 12, 2016.
We will also discuss; Pricing, Publishing, Proposals, etc.
Record Album Artwork REBOOT
Take a preexisting record album cover and give it a twist.
If you create or recreate artwork digitally, or a combination of both, please hand in the finished project in the digital form the work is to be 12”x12” at 300dpi with the layers separated (PSD or TIFF) along with any traditional elements created.
Artwork is Due May 3rd, 2016.
FINAL is MAY 3RD, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Digital Lab
300 word paper on an emerging Illustrator. To qualify as "Emerging", the illustrator should have a career less than 10 years. That does not exclude artists of age or artists who had earlier careers elsewhere. Please include examples of imagery, subject matter, working methods, lifestyles, etc. This paper will serve as your FINAL.
